Always finding inspiration in candid moments, Suri is a lifelong adventurer who explores, documents and reveals subjects near, far and in between, from the most familiar Brooklyn streets to the least depicted corners of the globe. As a child, Suri posed regularly for carefully planned portraits filled with smiling, uniformly-attired family members. However, in discovering abandoned houses, overgrown train tracks and other unburied treasures, Suri gravitated towards depicting improvisational moments with disposable, point-and-shoot and Polaroid cameras. Now shooting black and white film, Suri combines an eye for spontaneity with quick reflexes and a personable demeanor and incites and captures funny, intimate and poignant instances between people, places and things.
